baked french fries

There’s nothing quite like fresh cut fries and they’re easy to make at home in your oven! I paired them with the best damn vegan burger and our edamame mash sandwich, but you could even just eat ’em all by themselves.

Ingredients

ingredients:

  • 4 russet potatoes
  • 1/4 C sunflower oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425F.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Wash the potatoes and cut into approx. 1 cm sticks, leaving the skin on. Once the water is at a rolling boil, submerge the potato sticks in the water and cook for 10 mins.
  3. Drain the water from the pot and toss them in oil, sea salt, ground pepper, and paprika until evenly coated. Then lay them out on baking sheets without over crowding.
  4. Bake for 50-55 mins, flipping half way through. Serve immediately.

when I bake my sweet potato, they don’t become crunchy… even when my oven is superhot (220*C)

sweet potatoes are notoriously hard to get crispy when baked. But we didn’t used sweet potatoes in this recipe? You can but they won’t come out as crisp!

Aha! Than that’s the problem, I had sweet potatoes on hand so I tried to make fries! Thank you for your response! 🙂

Why do you boil the potatoes before putting them in the oven?
