tiktok wrap hack: 3 vegan filling ideas

    Jump to Recipe

The famous tiktok wrap hack has entered the hot for food kitchen. I just couldn't resist!

    tiktok wrap hack ideas

This is one of those food trends where I slap myself thinking, "how did I not think of this?!" It seems so logical!

Anyway, I didn't think of it and now I'm just being an internet hack trolling for views. So today I'm going to share my fave filling combos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner so you can make this genius thing 3 tasty ways. But there truly are endless ideas to stuff into your folded tortilla and it's so easy to throw together.

how to make the tiktok wrap hack

    1. Think about what foods and food combos you love. Then imagine them all smashed together with melted vegan cheese.

    2. Prep the fillings. Anything like roasted potatoes, hashbrowns, vegan meats or other things you would eat cooked, need to be cooked thoroughly before folding into the tortilla. Also vegan cheese is not an option, but a must have!

    3. Lay a large tortilla (10 to 11-inches wide) flat on a clean surface and make a cut from the center down to the bottom edge.

    4. Imagine the tortilla now in quarters and arrange the fillings in each quadrant.

    5. Fold up your wrap starting from the bottom left quarter, folding it up over the top left, then folding it over to the top right, then folding it down to the bottom right.

    6. Cover both sides of the tortilla with a light coating of vegan butter or use a vegetable oil spray. Then place the wrap into a panini press or into a hot grill pan. For the grill pan option, which is what I used, place a sandwich press on top or use another cast iron pan to help weight and flatten it.

    breakfast wrap hack idea

Let's start with the days most important meal, breakfast! This is not a healthy wrap hack by any means, but it's damn delicious! If you wanted to replace the JustEgg patty that I used with tofu scramble that would be awesome too.

    Ingredients

    • 1 JustEgg folded patty (can also substitute leftover tofu scramble)
    • 2 Beyond Meat Breakfast Sausage patties (can also substitute store-bought or homemade vegan bacon)
    • 1 frozen potato hashbrown patty
    • 1 (10 to 11-inch) flour tortilla
    • 1 C vegan cheddar style shreds or 2 slices
    • hot sauce, to taste
    • 1 teaspoon vegan butter, divided

    Instructions

    • I found it easiest to place the JustEgg folded patty, the sausage patties, and frozen hashbrown into an air fryer for 10 minutes at 400°F or until thoroughly cooked and the hasbrown is crispy. Ensure these components are cooked before folding in the wrap.
    • Place the tortilla onto a clean surface or cutting board. Use a knife to cut a slit from the center to the bottom edge.
    • Imagine the tortilla in quarters. Place vegan cheese shreds on the surface of the entire tortilla. Place the egg patty on the bottom left quarter. Add the 2 sausage patties in the top left quarter. Place the hashbrown patty on the upper right.
    • Fold the wrap up, starting from the bottom left quarter, folding it up over the top left, then folding it over to the top right, then folding it down to the bottom right.
    • Spread a ½ teaspoon of vegan butter on each side of the tortilla and place into a hot grill pan or a panini press. For the grill pan option, place a sandwich press on top or use another cast iron pan to help weight and flatten it. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until crispy. I also let the wrap sit in the pan with a lid on it and the heat off to get the cheese even more melted, if needed.

    lunch wrap hack idea

Who's ready for lunch? This could also be a dinner idea but I was envisioning this like a meatball sub sandwich. I used Beyond Meat meatballs in this because they're my current obsession. I also found a use for this giardiniera sandwich mix which adds a nice tangy bite in this wrap!

    Ingredients

    • 4 vegan meatballs, cooked and cut in half
    • 1 (10 to 11-inch) flour tortilla
    • ½ C store bought or homemade marinara sauce, divided
    • 2 slices vegan mozzarella cheese or 1 cup shreds
    • ½ C giardiniera style pickled sandwich mix, finely chopped
    • 4 fresh basil leaves
    • ½ cup fresh baby spinach
    • olive oil or vegetable oil spray

    Instructions

    • Place the tortilla onto a clean surface or cutting board. Use a knife to cut a slit from the center to the bottom edge.
    • Imagine the tortilla in quarters. Use a spoon to add a thin layer of marinara around the whole surface of the tortilla. Place a cheese slice on the bottom left quarter and another on bottom right quarter. Add the halved meatballs, flat side down, side by side on the upper left quarter. Add the chopped giardiniera mix on the upper right quarter. Add the spinach and basil leaves on the bottom right corner.
    • Fold the wrap up, starting from the bottom left quarter, folding it up over the top left, then folding it over to the top right, then folding it down to the bottom right.
    • Brush a layer of olive oil or spray vegetable oil on each side of the tortilla and place into a hot grill pan or a panini press. For the grill pan option, place a sandwich press on top or use another cast iron pan to help weight and flatten it. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until crispy. I also let the wrap sit in the pan with a lid on it and the heat off to get the cheese even more melted, if needed.
    • Heat up the remaining marinara sauce in the microwave for dipping.

    dinner wrap hack idea

Hope you're not full yet, friends! I've got an epic and unique idea for a fill-up-your-tum dinner wrap hack. This is a chicken pot pie inspired filling using mashed potatoes, frozen mixed veggies, vegan chicken, and cheese. The potatoes and cheese kind of melt together to form the glue or gravy of this filling and it's ridiculously yummy! But if you want to really take it over the top make some mushroom gravy to dip the wrap into.

vegan chicken pot pie wrap hack

Here's an idea I bet you haven't seen stuffed into the tiktok wrap hack trend. Chicken pot pie filling is a savory, creamy treat and I've accomplished the taste and texture with leftover mashed potatoes, browned vegan chicken, mixed veggies, and vegan cheese.

    Prep Time: 5 minutes minutes

    Ingredients

    • ½ C vegan unbreaded chicken pieces
    • ½ C frozen mixed vegetables (corn, peas, carrots, green beans), thawed and drained
    • 1 (10 to 11-inch) flour tortilla
    • 1 C leftover mashed potatoes
    • 2 slices vegan mozzarella cheese or 1 cup shreds
    • 1 teaspoon vegan butter, divided

    Instructions

    • Cook the vegan chicken pieces in a cast iron pan or non-stick skillet according to package directions or until browned. Set aside in a bowl.
    • To thaw the frozen mixed vegetables you can pour boiling water over them and let them sit while you cook the chicken. Drain from the excess water through a sieve. Also heat the leftover mashed potatoes in the microwave until slightly warmed.
    • Place the tortilla onto a clean surface or cutting board.
    • Imagine the tortilla in quarters. Use a spoon to spread the mashed potatoes around the entire surface of the tortilla as evenly as possible. Use a knife to cut a slit from the center to the bottom edge.
    • Place a cheese slice on the bottom left quarter and another on bottom right quarter. Add the browned vegan chicken pieces to the upper left quarter and gently press them into the mashed potatoes to help them stick. Add the vegetables to the upper right quarter, gently pressing to help them stick.
    • Fold the wrap up, starting from the bottom left quarter, folding it up over the top left, then folding it over to the top right, then folding it down to the bottom right.
    • Spread ½ a teaspoon of vegan butter onto each side of the tortilla. Place it into a hot grill pan or a panini press. Is it hot for food approved?

So shooting photos of this tiktok wrap hack is a disaster. There's not many good angles! I don't like a recipe that doesn't photograph well. However, despite that one small flaw I really do like this wrap hack idea. It's def #hotforfoodapproved!

I will never ever make a normal quesadilla again. And I used to make quite a number of quesadillas for an easy lunch or dinner. I usually like to fill them with black beans, corn, onion, and vegan cheese. Most of the corn and bean filling would fall out into the pan because vegan cheese doesn't stick like regular cheese in actuality. But with this new tiktok trend we're all saved!

Here's the only decent photo I got on my good camera of the chicken pot pie wrap. Happy wrapping!
