We don't fancy ourselves mixologists but we do love to drink when we eat! This summer shake up your backyard beverage and get a little fancy with this easy to make strawberry ginger basil prosecco cocktail. Even if these flavours don’t jive with you let it inspire you to start mixing sweet and savoury ingredients with your drink of choice whether it’s mojitos, sangria, or a white wine spritzer.

ingredients (2 drinks):
1 C diced strawberries
1/2 tsp grated ginger
2 tbsp raw sugar
1 tbsp finely chopped basil
2 oz. brandy
2 C chilled prosecco
In a wide mouth jar mix together diced strawberries, grated ginger, raw sugar, basil, and brandy. Muddle the ingredients together for a few minutes using a spoon or fork. You could make this a day or a few hours ahead and let is sit in the fridge until you’re ready to make the cocktails.
Divide the strawberry ginger basil and brandy mixture into 2 glasses and add 1 cup of chilled prosecco. As an option you can also add crushed ice to the cocktail if you desire. Serve immediately!
