The easiest and final japanese inspired dish that I made for the Toyota family picnic is simple cold tofu. Now I like tofu, but this might be an acquired taste. But have an open mind! It's very light and has a lot of flavour from the tamari and green onions and it's a nice compliment to the salty and saucy yakisoba and fried yam tempura.
1 package of medium (regular) tofu)
1 tbsp gluten free tamari (or soy sauce)
1 tsp grated ginger
1 green onion, thinly sliced
Drain the water from the package of tofu and cut into 1" cubes. In a mixing bowl whisk together tamari (or soy sauce) and grated ginger. Stir in the green onion, reserving some for the garnish on the top. Pour the sauce over the tofu cubes and serve.
You can also put the tofu in a glass container with a lid along with the sauce and let it sit in the fridge to serve later or the next day.
