the pomegranate punch smoothie

Did you know that pomegranates will last months if you keep them in a plastic bag tied up in the fridge? Seems suffocating, but it’s true. I read it somewhere and I’ve had a bunch in my fridge since before December! So that’s where the inspiration to throw them into my morning smoothie came from. It’s a refreshing one.

the pomegranate punch smoothie

you can either use fresh pomegranate seeds, but now I've seen them come in a bag in the frozen fruit section too!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 C pomegranate seeds
  • 1/2 a navel orange, peeled
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 C coconut water
  • 1 1/2 C ice cubes

Instructions

  1. This one definitely requires a high-powered blender because of the pulpy orange, but alternatively you could just do half the amount of coconut water and add another half cup of fresh orange juice to the mix if you want. Blend all the ingredients together until very smooth and frothy. Serve immediately.
