To celebrate the release of the new hot for food cookbook, Vegan Comfort Classics: 101 Recipes to Feed Your Face, I popped on over to visit my girl Tracy at Cityline in Toronto. I showed her how to make the creamy, delectable bacon mac & cheese from the book and I'm pretty sure I wowed her. I mean who wouldn't be impressed with so many varieties of vegan bacon. Watch the segment below!
I went and blew Tracy Moore's mind on Cityline by making the magic vegan nacho cheese and smothering it over a big 'ol plate of chili cheese nachos!
You can watch the full segment and the reaction here.
I was so thrilled to be invited to The Morning Show on Global TV in Toronto to reveal the cookbook cover for Vegan Comfort Classics: 101 Recipes to Feed Your Face! I also fed host, Liem Vu, some of my fave recipes from the book including bacon mac & cheese, bbq pulled pork sandwiches, and southern fried cauliflower. He was so into the food he let me host the segment, pretty much...haha... WATCH BELOW!
Today at 7 pm we'll be on an episode of Your Beauty Fuel airing on Rogers TV London with the inspirational Rita Catolino. She's dedicated 2 whole episodes of her show to delicious vegan eating all courtesy of hot for food blog and tonight is all about savoury comfort foods like cauliflower buffalo wings, lentil chili cheese nachos, and easy mac & peas. We were so excited to be invited to her home to cook up lots of vegan love, because just look at her gorgeous kitchen!
If you don't catch the episode or can't get it where you live, read more about Rita's transformational health story and get the recipes we made here.
So you know how we've been contributing Meatless Monday recipe ideas to foodnetwork.ca a couple times a month? Well it's turned out to be a perfect little partnership, because now we get to make these exclusive recipes on live television!
The Morning Show on Global Television Toronto invited us to their studios to make this week's bright and delicious edamame mash sandwiches. They were a little reminder that spring is almost here!
We were happy to meet one of the co-hosts, Kris Reyes, who is as equally obsessed with good food as we are, but she just couldn't help asking us about gas... seriously! Watch the segment.
Today we were up dark and early at 4 am to get prepped for an appearance on Breakfast Television in Toronto. The rush and chaos of morning television is amusing. There's so much to remember and it's all over in a flash! But it's super fun and all part of our plan to make the whole world vegan.
Last year we heard host Dina Pugliese was trying to eat vegan so we sent her a starter kit with some of our fave staples like coconut fakin' bacon, cashew sour cream, chocolate chip almond butter cookies, and must-have ingredients like nutritional yeast. She loved it! So we were happy to connect again on live TV to talk about dairy substitutes. It's just a shame we didn't get to show everyone our famous vegan nacho cheese sauce.

Today we made our first appearance together on live television in Toronto! When we arrived to The Morning Show on Global Television everyone behind the scenes was already buzzing about our cauliflower buffalo wings and when host, Rosey Edeh went in for her first bite we think her eyes popped out of her head. It was pretty entertaining! We also got to showcase some of our other favourite comfort foods like mac & cheese and gingerbread cookies, just in time for the holidays.

John and I have been excited for a vegan thanksgiving we can call our own since the first leaves started to turn. This will be our first ever thanksgiving as partners of hot for food blog and we got to celebrate by sharing our easy recipe ideas on CHCH Morning Live today! Host, Lesley Stewart is already a great healthy living ambassador and veg-curious foodie and couldn't get enough of our savoury quinoa stuffing and super easy pumpkin crumble stack for dessert.
Check out the clip below and start prepping your vegan thanksgiving dinner!
I was on global toronto news hour with Susan Hay today feeding her our cauliflower buffalo wings and showing viewers how to make our b.k.t. sandwich. I was so excited to learn that Susan was interested in our blog and our recipes from John. He met her on set of a reality tv show recently and was able to arrange this interview with her personally.

Today I went back to where it all started for me. I started working in television in 2005 in Vancouver at a show called 969. It no longer exists, but the team who created this show is all up in the TV business. This morning I was reunited with the first person I ever co-hosted with, Riaz Meghji. He's now the host of Breakfast Television in Vancouver and it was a real full circle moment to be feeding him vegan food from recipes on hot for food. We showcased vegan love on television in Ottawa, Calgary, Lethbridge, and brought it all the way to the west coast. What a huge accomplishment! Plus it's amazing of these stations to start talking about plant based eating.

John and I have experienced a lot of firsts over the last couple of weeks! I'm sure he would have never imagined he'd be making a bathroom cleaner on live television. But there he was on CTV Morning Live in Vancouver doing just that. Check out the segment here! (hilarious flub from the host included)
Preparing for this appearance was more work then we anticipated but a bloggers got to do what a bloggers got to do! Here's us the night before trying to create fake dirt on a piece of tile so we can show how to clean it with a grapefruit and salt during the segment. Yes, you read that correctly.
This morning John and I had our first TV appearance together to talk about hot for food! We hit up the morning news show on Global bright and early with vegan tricks up our sleeves. The host Scott was already familiar with vegetarian fare as he said his partner is veg and cooks for him, but I think we gave him some vegan arsenal to take back to the dinner table! He was really stoked on the vanilla cheesecake and kale caesar salad. Watch the segment below.
I've been in Ottawa all week hosting Algonquin College's orientation week and I thought while I'm here why not spread some vegan love around this fine city as well! I got to be on CTV Morning Live today to share some of our favourite vegan creations and promote healthy alternatives to eating dairy and meat. Hosts, Lianne and Jeff seemed pretty impressed with the vanilla cheesecake with chocolate almond crust, caesar salad, and cauliflower buffalo wings... I think we might have even converted them!
Watch the segment from the show here!
Today I appeared on The Social on CTV to talk all about being vegan and share some of my favourite recipes from hot for food. I proved to the ladies on the show, and the rest of Canada, that vegan food isn't just healthy but tastes amazing too! Check out the video below.
The best part is I wasn't alone up there. Actress Emily Procter of CSI: Miami fame was waving the vegan flag too! She was so impressed with my food that she took the caesar salad dressing with her and is now attempting to smuggle it across the US border! It is that good. You can check out the recipe here.
