Well looky looky! Now Magazine in Toronto decided to place a bunch of vegans on the cover this week. What were they thinking... it's so controversial. JK! Look at how fun and friendly we look. There's nothing to be scared of.
This is mega huge! The article has different view points of the vegan community in Toronto and how it's taking over from all angles - activism, social media, neighborhoods dedicated to vegan restaurants and more. Read the whole feature here.
This makes me so happy! My dear friend Kim D'eon is the editor in chief at Vista Magazine and she came over one afternoon to cook with me and shoot this feature. I'm so happy with how it turned out and thrilled that her curiosity to explore the spiritual side of my vegan lifestyle and how it all works together ended up in print!
You can read more below in the gallery or here on their site if you can't find this issue where you live. But if you live in Canada it's FREE and available nationwide at local grocers and health stores.
There's also a fun video of us making the green curry cauliflower roast from the hot for food cookbook!
This is freakin' huge! Someone thought it was a good idea to put me on the front cover of Chatelaine magazine the month my cookbook comes out. Not only that, but they named me one of 23 women changing the way you eat! You know what that means?! Yup, #vegantakeover is definitely in full effect now. Read my featured interview here.
And you can read a writer from the magazine give the debut hot for food cookbook the full review here!

It was such a surprise to see my face on the cover of IMPACT Magazine! They never told me I'd be on the cover! But I did know they were in the middle of compiling a list of Canada's Top Vegan Influencers. There's some incredible people on this list and it's so exciting to see more and more people getting turned on to the vegan lifestyle because of the internet. Like I always say, vegan takeover is in full effect.
Thanks to IMPACT Magazine for doing this feature and highlighting some really great content creators, authors, and entrepreneurs, athletes, and more. Check out the full list here.
The magazine is also FREE so you might see it when you're walking around the city or you can download your FREE digital edition here.

It was really awesome to be able to share our delectable vegan cheesecake recipe with the highly fashionable readers of Flare Magazine! The crew came over to the house with a hair stylist, make up artist, and people to dress me! It was quite a different day then the norm... when I'm usually in my pj's until 5pm and haven't left this computer chair.
I'm fancy, huh!
There's a pretty fabulous magazine out there that some how heard about what we're doing all the way across the pond! Eluxe Magazine is the world's first ever sustainable luxury fashion and lifestyle publication and we're thrilled they wanted to talk to us in their latest feature!

Our good friends at Laika Magazine are thrilled, as are we, to hear that New Zealand is the latest nation to vote earlier this week to ban animal cosmetics testing! As you know I've recently joined the #becrueltyfree campaign with Humane Society International and want to spread awareness about animal testing of cosmetics so that one day we can announce this ban in Canada and other parts of the world where a ban has yet to be discussed.
To celebrate, Laika Magazine wanted me to share a little bit about my cruelty-free beauty routine and what products are in my makeup bag. Read the full interview here.
Alrighty, we did something a little crafty for latest issue of clean eating magazine. Go pick up the double issue now to learn how to make your own soy candles for only $5 each! It's actually pretty easy and it's a cute personal host gift or stocking stuffer for the holidays.
We're excited to be able to spread the vegan message with faze magazine in a feature they did to promote world vegan month this november. The more young people that can discover the health benefits and positive impact being vegan can have on your body and the planet the more shiny our future will be. Thanks for dedicating your pages to this faze mag!
Our vegan pal Phoebe Dykstra is also sharing her journey to becoming vegan and we're so glad we could influence her enough to make the jump from vegetarianism to full on bad ass vegan!
Well here it is... another issue of clean eating magazine including our superfoods face mask featured on the cover. You want to eat your superfoods, but did you know they can be just beneficial on your face and body? Give it a try and let us know what you think.
There was a lot of great feedback from the last issue and it seems we've got people all over north america swapping out their deodorants and antiperspirants for the au-naturel kind. Now don't go throwing out all kinds of expensive beauty products in favour of what's in your fridge, that's wasteful. But slowly and surely you can live clean and cruelty free in every way and we're happy to help you do it!
Get Leashed magazine came to hot for food HQ to meet our cat Snickle and chat about what it's like being vegan! I shared the secret weapon to preparing kale, made the crew some smoothies, and also took a trip to the dufferin grove farmers' market to check out the local fare.
The whole feature can be found here and watch the video below.
This is crazy! We've been published. Today you can pick up the latest issue of clean eating magazine to see the new monthly column I started, featuring our DIY home and beauty recipes. September's budget issue includes a step by step recipe for our natural lavender deodorant. I've been working on upcoming issues as well so there will be lots more to check out on that section of the blog in the coming weeks. Please let us know what products you're interested in trying to make yourself and hopefully we can work out a recipe idea!
I have to give a huge thanks to my cousin Midori Rutledge who has been helping spread the word about hot for food and introduced me to the editor in chief of the magazine so this could all transpire! Midori is an incredible fitness model and personal trainer who is just full of love and light. If you need fitness inspiration she will definitely get you moving!
